Easy Tiger

Image
I wasn't able to capture in the picture quite how vibrant the colours are in this and I'd had the polish on for 5 days before taking the picture so there is a bit of tip wear but I really love this look. There are shimmering shades of orange, gold and coral and the addition of the tiger stripes stamped on top really made the colours pop!   This was created with a base of No 17 (Lasting Fix) Glisten with a stripe of Rimmel (Cocktail Colour) Shirley Temple in the middle of each nail and stripes from Gals image plate GA32 stamped with Konad black special polish.  All this was topped off with a coat of China Glaze Fast Forward top coat. I love the range of colours that the No 17 polishes offer, they do a good line in subtle shimmer.  They are quite cheap as well so I can see me purchasing quite a few more in the near future. My stamping skills still leave a lot to be desired but I think this is one I will have a go at again as it was so much fun.

Flower Power

I needed something a bit more subtle for work so I had a go at stamping with white over a neutral. The base is China Glaze Kalahari Kiss with the flowers stamped in Konad White special stamping polish and Barry M Gold Glitter on the tips to add a little bit of sparkle.  The flowers are from Gals image plate GA28.

Stamping

When it comes to painting my nails my co-ordination leaves a lot to be desired so I thought I would have a go at stamping to add some interesting designs over the colour. This is my first attempt: I used Rimmel Lasting Finish 198 Azure as the base with Barry M Silver Foil stamped over the top using a design from Gals image plate GA29.

A funny beginning

I've been a supporter of Comic Relief since it started 25 years ago and I wanted to do something to mark Red Nose Day this year.  I wasn't sure my artistic skills would be able to produce anything suitable so I had a look at the nail wraps in Claire's.  They looked really good but were £6 for a set with only £1 going to charity, so I decided to just paint my nails and make a donation instead.  This is the result: Apologies for the blurry picture, I'm still getting the hang of taking pictures of my own hand.  I also haven't got the hang of the settings on my camera so the date and time are a little bit out of sync. The base on the red nails and red nose was Barry M 262 Bright Red and the accent nail base is Barry M 66 Matt White. The face was painted with a black nail art brush from Claire's and the white circles were stamped with Konad white special stamping polish and Gals image plate GA26.
