May Tri-Polish Challenge Day 3 - Abstract Roses

A less complicated than it looks mani for day 3 of the May tri-polish challenge.

I have given this one the title of Abstract Roses as it reminds me a bit of an abstract painting.
More details after the jump.
I have Barry M to thank for this one as all the coloured polishes used are from their fantastic range.

I started with a base of Matt White and sponged on a very sparing layer of Foil Effects Silver to give the colours a bit more dimension and sparkle (This doesn't really show up in the picture but it looks great real life).  Next I used a couple of pieces of make up sponge cut into flower shapes to sponge on Bright Red and Cobalt Blue.  The petal detail was painted on with a black nail art striper brush from Claire's.  I found using the brush better than a pen as you can bend it as you gently press it onto the nail, taking some of the effort out of creating the shape of the petals.  This was all sealed with a coat of China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat to smooth the colours together and add a nice shine (which looks lovely in real life but is a pain in the proverbials to photograph).
