May Tri-Polish Challenge Day 4 - A Little Bit of Tartan

Just a quick one for the final day of this month's tri-polish challenge.

My chosen polishes for this month were Barry M Cobalt Blue, Barry M Bright Red and China Glaze Elephant Walk.

This look used a base of Barry M Bright Red.  The stripes were added with a black nail art brush from Claire's and the dots are Barry M Gold Foil Effect applied using a cocktail stick to give more of an impression of stitching than a dotting tool.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Food

I'm playing catch up at the moment and this is the prompt for 2 weeks ago, which was food. I wanted to do something a little different so I created a design inspired by the secret rainbow cakes.  Those cakes that are covered in plain icing and look quite simple until you cut into them and the sponge inside is a rainbow of colours, sometimes layered and sometimes swirled.  I went with the swirled option.
